Vehicle engines require motor oil to lubricate and protect internal parts from wear. When the piston moves down its cylinder wall, a thin film of oil is left on the cylinder wall. Part of this film is consumed in the combustion process. As a result, varying rates of oil consumption is considered normal in all engines. Leaks from gaskets and seals also contribute to loss of engine oil.
NOTE: Most vehicle manufactures recommend checking the engine oil every time you fill your fuel tank.
You should change your oil and filter, at or before the oil change intervals provided by your vehicles manufacturer. These intervals are based on mileage or time. By doing this, you can keep your engine in good condition and providing the best protection for all your components.
Used oil can pollute the environment and should never be poured down the drain. The Pennzoil “Clean Change Campaign” helps Do-it-yourselfers protect the environment. At Pennzoil 10 Min. Oil Change we will recycle your used oil, just bring it in up to 5 gallons per visit.
